Natalie and Emily have been sharing a room since they were 2 and 6. These two peas in a pod are going to be forever friends but as they grow up, their need for personal space has become evident.
Emily, now nearly 13 years old, has been pining for her own room. So as her 13th birthday present, we let her take over the Desert Den! It did take some time for me to get used to the idea. Letting go of the Desert den as a room for everyone was a little hard for me.
But Emily deserves her own space and individuality.
And so does Natalie!
The timing couldn’t have been better. My highly talented friend Justina Blakeney just launched a vibrant and fun new Opalhouse designed with Jungalow. Natalie is extremely artistic so the colors and textures that Justina uses in this collection really fits her color palette and personality!
Here is a look at how messy the room got after the two girls shared a room for most of their lives.
Now Look at how cute her room is now after we cleaned up the mess!
Thank you Justina for creating such a great collection with target. We love it so much! Do you see the DIY headboard I upcycled from the wall paneling from my reading corner in my bedroom? DIYs plus the new Opalhouse designed with Jungalow for the win!
